The bad news is that their boat is broken. The bad news is they aren't able to fish because of it. The bad news is they may not be able to fix their boat. The bad news is they are probably done for the season. And not to be materialistic or anything, but Erik goes to Alaska to make money and no fish = no money. The bad news is Erik is cold and hasn't seen the sun.
The good news is he may be coming home early.

Oh no! What happened...? How did it happen? Is everyone okay? Is he feeling dispirited?
I don't really know what happened. All I know is he can't fish. I think it's something with the engine???? He seemed disappointed, but what can you do?
