It's been a little while so I decided to update you all again. This week has been relatively low-key.
The Men's Volleyball Team was finally selected. I was laying in my room reading philosophy and I heard some goons sprinting down the hallway making so much flippin noise. I turned over when they footsteps approached my door and Elton and Jeff burst through the door giggling like a bunch of school girls. They jumped on me and shrieked that they'd both made the team. It was so cute and I was so excited for them! I'm pretty excited for this whole volleyball thing. For the first semester we travel with the men's team and it'll be so much fun to get to know each other and to.... Flip to just travel. My team is pretty fun so far. I don't know all the girls, but I think they've started to warm up to us Rookies. I'd say we're pretty cool people. No, but really, it's a nice bunch of girls. We just need to bond and get to know each other a bit. Practices have been lame for the most part. My setting has been less than good and I'm starting to get my timing for hitting. I hope things will fall into place. I'm sure I'll enjoy riding the pine either way. We just had practice this morning. It was ok, I guess. Practices have been somewhat brutal so far. Brutal in the sense that I feel as though I'm playing like someone in gr. eight.
What else.... Thursday night was Jeff's 18th birthday so we went to Cowboys. That was fun. There were a lot of King's students there and we all danced and had fun. I'm not into drinking and partying, but I still enjoyed myself. It's kind of strange being in that environment because I've never really had to deal with it, but people respect the fact that I don't want to drink and I think they respect that I still want to hang out with them. It's always kind of tough to "do the right thing". I want to show them that I love them and everything, but I disagree with getting drunk at any given chance. This could go on forever so maybe I'll discuss it a bit more later.
I've been hanging out with Deanna a lot. I love that girl. I'm so glad we're both playing volleyball... Hmm... yesterday her and I went to U of A and watched Jono's sister play volleyball. We didn't really watch much, but we got to get to know Lorraine (from our team) better cause she was there and we talked for a while. Lamented about volleyball for a bit... it was good.
I got to go work on some chemistry for a bit though so I may update a bit later. See you!
